A remarkable figure from the ancient, undivided Church, Saint Patrick first came to Ireland not as a missionary, but as a young man captured into slavery. After years of hardship and a miraculous escape, he felt a powerful calling from God to return to the very land where he was enslaved and preach the Gospel of Christ. Facing numerous dangers, he baptized thousands, ordained clergy, and established churches, essentially bringing Christianity to the entire island. He is deeply honoured as a saint in the Orthodox Church for his incredible faith and apostolic labours.
