St. Columba

Saint Columba was a 6th-century Irish missionary who founded the influential monastery of Iona in Scotland. After leaving Ireland in 563 AD with twelve followers, he established a base that would transform Celtic Christianity throughout Britain.

Despite his name meaning "dove," he was known for his fierce spirit as he converted Pictish kings, established monasteries, and became revered as one of Ireland's Twelve Apostles.
